Mr. Tobey was a shipwright on HMCS <em>Poundmaker.</em>
But a shipwright, that’s what the navy calls you. Well, anything that, when they come and get you, to fix something, you’re there to do it for them.

A shipwright, I was shipwright [in HMCS Poundmaker, a frigate of the Royal Canadian Navy]. That’s what I was. I wasn’t on deck. Well, anything that breaks down, he’s [the shipwright] got to be able to fix it. It’s a carpenter, whatever you want to call it. But a shipwright, that’s what the navy calls you. Well, anything that, when they come and get you, to fix something, you’re there to do it for them.
