Cy Farquharson (Primary Source)

In 2010, The Memory Project interviewed Cyrus “Cy” Farquharson, a veteran of the Second World War. Farquharson was born in Palmerston, Ontario, on 4 July 1922. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1940 and served until 1945. He served as a radio operator with the 12th Field Regiment, 3rd Division during the war, and was at Juno Beach on D-Day. In his testimony, he remembers the lead-up to D-Day and the chaotic fighting in Normandy. Farquharson died on 9 January 2016 in Saint Jacobs, Ontario.
