George Myatte (Primary Source)
Corporal (retired) George Myatte served with The Royal Canadian Regiment. In the 1990s, he was among the first Canadian forces to enter the former Yugoslavia on active service. As part of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR), one of Corporal Myatte’s assignments was the protection of the Sarajevo airport. He currently lives in London, Ontario and is a member of The Memory Project Speakers Bureau, visiting local schools and community centres and sharing his stories of service.Please be advised that Memory Project primary sources may deal with personal testimony that reflect the speaker’s recollections and interpretations of events.
