Jim Day

James Day, equestrian (born 7 July 1946 in Thornhill, ON). A specialist in show jumping, Day was a member - with James Elder and Thomas Gayford - of the gold-medal Canadian team at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.

James Day, equestrian (born 7 July 1946 in Thornhill, ON). A specialist in show jumping, Day was a member - with James Elder and Thomas Gayford - of the gold-medal Canadian team at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. James Day first entered international competition in 1964, winning the North American junior jumping championship; in 1966 he was senior champion. He won the individual jumping event at the Pan-American Games in Winnipeg and was on the team that won the Grand Prix events at the North American jumping championship and Royal Horse Show (1969) and the world championships (1970). James Day also represented Canada in both the 1972 and 1976 Olympics.
