L'Horoscope. 'Suite chorégraphique' for orchestra by Roger Matton, based on an Acadian legend. Commissioned in 1957 by the CBC, it was premiered 12 Oct 1958 by the CBC Symphony Orchestra under Geoffrey Waddington on a CBC radio broadcast and was recorded (RCI 185/5-ACM 29) the same year. It was presented as a ballet by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, with choreography by Ludmilla Chiriaeff, 6 Nov 1958 on CBC TV's 'L'Heure du concert'. L'Horoscope has had numerous subsequent performances, notably by the Symphony of the Air (New York, 1960), the CBC SO (1963), the NYO (1964), the TSO (1973), and the Quebec Symphony Orchestra (1987).
