Call to Canadian Contributors

The Canadian Encyclopedia commissions articles on subjects ranging from history and politics to art, science—and everything in between. We look for authors and researchers on the leading edge of their fields to present Canadian stories, people and ideas that matter most. If you’re an expert on any aspect of Canadian history, society, or culture, we invite you to propose topics for new articles relevant to Canadians today. We want to hear from experienced contributors who are passionate about creating an enduring cultural and historical legacy for all Canadians. Please note that we do not publish previously written or published work. To suggest article topics or for more information on becoming a contributor, write to us at editorial@historicacanada.ca.

The Canadian Encyclopedia is a project of Historica Canada, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization devoted to teaching Canadians more about our shared country.  We also produce the Heritage Minutes and other programs. If you believe all Canadians should have access to free, impartial, fact-checked, regularly updated information about Canada’s history and culture in both official languages, please consider donating today. All donations above $3 will receive a tax receipt.
