To celebrate its 30th anniversary, The Canadian Encyclopedia created 30 lists of 30 things that make us proud to be Canadian, from famous people and historic events, to iconic foods and influential artists.
Below is a list of 30 places in Canada we think you should visit before you die. If the list seems heavy on provincial and national parks, that’s because it is — at over 9.98 million km 2, Canada encompasses a vast expanse of diverse, stunningly beautiful landscapes. In fact, so rich is our nation in parks, historic sites and urban attractions, we could easily have created another 30 lists of 30 must-see spots. Until we do, however, we offer you these as places to start.
