Armand Gagnier

Armand Gagnier. Clarinetist, b Montreal 21 Aug 1895, d there 27 Aug 1952. After studying with his father, Joseph, he continued lessons with Oscar Arnold, Jacques Vanpoucke, and F. Versmissen. He played at Sohmer Park 1916-19 as well as at Dominion Square Park, often appearing as soloist.

Armand Gagnier. Clarinetist, b Montreal 21 Aug 1895, d there 27 Aug 1952. After studying with his father, Joseph, he continued lessons with Oscar Arnold, Jacques Vanpoucke, and F. Versmissen. He played at Sohmer Park 1916-19 as well as at Dominion Square Park, often appearing as soloist. In 1923 he became assistant conductor of the orchestra accompanying Sir Harry Lauder's troupe on its US and European tour. He was clarinet soloist 1937-52 in the CSM Orchestra and until 1947 in the Canadian Grenadier Guards Band, and he was a member 1942-9 of the Gagnier Woodwind Quintet.
