Fabien Roy, politician (b at St-Prosper, Qué 17 Apr 1928). He was elected the Ralliement créditiste MNA for Beauce in 1970, and was re-elected in 1973 under the Parti créditiste banner and in 1976 under that of the Parti national populaire, which he had founded the previous year with former Liberal minister Jérôme Choquette. He was largely responsible for the party's acceptance of nationalist and progressive ideas. In Apr 1979 he was chosen interim leader of the federal Social Credit Party. He was elected as this party's MP for Beauce in 1979, but was defeated in 1980, thereafter working for several economic development organizations in the Beauce region.
