Moosomin

Moosomin, Saskatchewan, incorporated as a town in 1887, population 2,743 (2016 census), 2,485 (2011 census). The town of Moosomin is located in southeastern Saskatchewan 15 km west of the Manitoba border.

History

When the Canadian Pacific Railway entered the Northwest Territories in 1882, Moosomin quickly established itself as one of the leading towns on the Prairies. Prior to the development of branch lines, it served an area extending from the Qu'Appelle to the Souris river in southeastern Saskatchewan. The community continues as an important service and judicial centre.
