Rosetown, Sask, incorporated as a town in 1911, population 2317 (2011c), 2277 (2006c). The Town of Rosetown is located 115 km southwest of SASKATOON. It is a focal point for the major transportation routes of the region and is the dominant trade, service and governmental centre for a considerable area tributary to it. The town's initial development and continued prosperity have been dependent on both its role as a transportation hub and its location within some of the most productive wheat land on the Canadian prairies. Settlement commenced in 1904 and, subsequently, large-scale grain farming, as soon as the CNR line was routed through the district in 1908.
