Uniacke Estate Museum Park is in the beautiful country estate built by Richard John Uniacke in 1813 in Mount Uniacke, NS. Many consider it to be one of Canada's finest examples of Neoclassical architecture. Uniacke was a prominent Nova Scotia politician and perhaps Nova Scotia's most successful lawyer in the early 19th century. At one time the estate comprised over 4450 ha of land, and the modern provincial historic site retains over 800 ha of this land. In addition to Uniacke's house, which is restored and furnished to the early 19th century, the grounds include several self-guided walks, one of which follows one of the last remaining stretches of the old Halifax-to-Windsor post road. The house and grounds are open to the public from early June to mid-October.
