Andrew D. Miall

Andrew Miall has been Professor of Geology at the University of Toronto since 1979, where he specializes in the study of sedimentology and stratigraphy. He is the inaugural holder of the Gordon Stollery Chair in Basin Analysis and Petroleum Geology. Andrew was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1995, and served as president of the Academy of Science from 2007-2009. He was a member of the federal Oil Sands Science Advisory Panel in 2010 and the Alberta Environmental Monitoring Panel in 2011. He is also the author, co-author or editor of 11 books, including Principles of Sedimentary Basin Analysis (3rd edition, 2000) and, with N. Eyles, Canada Rocks (2007).
