Gloria Cranmer Webster was a Kwakwaka’wakw museum curator who worked to repatriate Indigenous cultural objects. She was the first Indigenous woman to graduate from the University of British Columbia and helped to create the U’mista Cultural Centre. Throughout her life, she worked to repatriate cultural objects that were confiscated from her father, Chief Dan Cranmer’s, potlatch in 1921. Cranmer Webster was appointed to the Order of Canada at the rank of officer in 2017.
