Peter Adams

The Hon. Peter Adams, PC, PhD, is Professor Emeritus, Trent University, where he was Founder Chair of Geography and Dean of Graduate Studies. Before Trent, at McGill, he was Carnegie Arctic Scholar, member of the McGill Axel Heiberg Expeditions and director of the McGill Subarctic Research Laboratory. Member of Parliament for Peterborough from 1993 to 2006, he was appointed to the Privy Council in 2004. He has published many papers on polar topics, notably snow and ice. His books include Trent, McGill and the North (2007), Peterborough and the Kawarthas (co-edited with C.H. Taylor, 2009), Peterborough Successes (2011) and Découvrir le Rȇve de Champlain/Finding Champlain’s Dream (written and edited with E.H. Jones and A.G. Brunger, 2015).
