William March

William (Bill) March has had an interesting and varied career. Originally from Cornwall, Ontario, he joined the Canadian Forces in 1977 where he served as an air navigator on CP-140 Aurora aircraft and as a staff officer in a variety of staff positions throughout Canada and Europe. In 1993 he recreated the position of “air force historian” at Air Command Headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Upon his retirement from the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2013, he transferred to the Air Reserve as the RCAF Historian within the Directorate of Air Force History and Heritage, where he also serves as the editor of the Royal Canadian Air Force Journal. March has a BA (Honours) in History from the Royal Military College of Canada and an MA in Canadian History from the University of Victoria. In addition to teaching courses on Canadian and aerospace power history at both the university and college level, he has authored or edited numerous publications and articles primarily dealing with the history of the RCAF.
