Zach Parrott

Zach has a BA from Western University, with an Honors Specialization in History and a Major in French, and an MA in Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies from Trent University. Between degrees he worked and travelled, spending a good amount of time changing the oil in logging equipment deep in the interior of British Columbia, where the wind and the wolves make you work very fast. He has written for a number of publications on nationalism, culture, media, and identity, and presented at an international conference on the philosophy of Marshall McLuhan. His favourite Canadian book is In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje, because only Ondaatje can pull you in so deftly with the simple image of a falling nun being snatched out of the air by a Macedonian bridge worker.
