Alfred Masella

Alfred (Alfredo) Masella, violinist, teacher (born 18 May 1930 in Montréal, Québec). He studied at McGill University 1942-7 with Rachel Gilbert and at the Paris Conservatory 1947-53 with André Asselin (violin) and Gaston Poulet (chamber music).

Alfred (Alfredo) Masella, violinist, teacher (born 18 May 1930 in Montréal, Québec). He studied at McGill University 1942-7 with Rachel Gilbert and at the Paris Conservatory 1947-53 with André Asselin (violin) and Gaston Poulet (chamber music). On his return to Canada he joined the MSO and the CBC 'Little Symphonies' Orchestra and other ensembles. He settled in Paris in 1969 and became a regular member of the Orchestre de l'Opéra in 1977. He taught at several regional conservatories in the Paris suburbs and was a member of the orchestra of the Concerts Colonne and the Fernand Oubradous Chamber Orchestra.
