Association des chanteurs de Montréal. A 125-voice mixed choir which began, and sang 1918-20, as a men's chorus and was directed successively by Armand Renaud and Hercule Desjardins. From 1920 until it disbanded in the mid-1930s it was conducted by Jean Goulet and performed such works with orchestra as La Tombelle's Crux in 1922; Guillaume Couture's Jean le Précurseur, twice in 1923 and again in 1928; Mendelssohn's Elijah, Planchet's Les Mystères douloureux, and Frédéric Pelletier's Stabat mater in 1925; Tinel's Franciscus and Berlioz' L'Enfance du Christ in 1926; Berlioz' La Damnation de Faust in 1927; Honegger's Le Roi David in 1928; Massenet's Hérodiade and Henri Miro's Vox populi in 1929; Massenet's Ève in 1930; and Handel's Messiah in 1932.
