Joseph Piché. Organist, teacher, b Montreal 1877, d there January 1939. He was a pupil of Alexis Contant (piano), Romain-Octave Pelletier (organ and piano), and Achille Fortier (harmony).

Joseph Piché. Organist, teacher, b Montreal 1877, d there January 1939. He was a pupil of Alexis Contant (piano), Romain-Octave Pelletier (organ and piano), and Achille Fortier (harmony). After serving as organist in the churches of Notre-Dame-du-St-Rosaire in 1898, St-Denis in 1900, and Sacré-Coeur 1908-26, he became the regular organist at St-Victor Church in 1930. He also taught 1905-37 at the Collège Ste-Marie and after that at the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. His wife, Yvonne Corbin (b Montreal 1877, d there 1951), also studied piano with Alexis Contant and Romain-Octave Pelletier. After her marriage she began conducting choirs and became deputy organist at the Immaculée-Conception, St-Sacrement, and St Patrick's churches.
