Anisia Campos. Pianist, teacher, b Rio de Janeiro 1940, naturalized Canadian 1971. Anisia Campos graduated from l'École normale de musique in Paris (where she studied with Alfred Cortot and Reine Gianoli) and from the Salzbourg Mozarteum, where she worked with the well-known pedagogue Karl Leimer. After a career in Brazil and Europe, she settled in Montreal, where she taught piano performance and pedagogy at l'École Vincent-d'Indy 1966-71. In 1967, she was appointed to the piano faculty at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec, first in Hull, then in Montreal, and became head of the keyboard department in 1991. She also taught at the University of Ottawa 1972-6 and at the Jeunesses Musicales CanadaOrford Arts Centre 1973-5, and was frequently invited to the École normale de musique in Paris as a jury member. She performed throughout Europe, the US, South America and Canada as a piano recitalist, chamber musician and soloist, and premiered Georges Enesco's Sonata No. 1 in several cities, notably Vienna. Anisia Campos married the conductor and composer Rémus Tzincoca, with whom she collaborated on the reconstruction of the original Rumanian version of Bartok's Cantata Profana. Among her students were conductor Yannick Nézet-Seguin and accompanist Jean Desmarais. She has been a jury member for the MSO Concours (Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition).
