D'Angé, François
François D'Angé (or d'Anger). Musician, fl 1662-3. One of the first persons referred to as a musician in Canadian historical documents. He was accepted as a boarder at the Jesuit College in Quebec in the fall of 1662. At Christmas the chronicle singles him out as one of the musicians who, having been treated too generously to beer and wine, were too hoarse to sing at the divine services. In December 1663 the Jesuits again fed and clothed the young man, but nothing is known of his further life.
