After medical studies in Dublin, Ire, and London, Eng, he immigrated in 1833 to Hamilton, where he was a prominent practitioner. In addition to his wide private practice, he served publicly as surgeon to the Hamilton jail, to the 3rd Gore Militia and to Wentworth and Halton counties.
