GrimSkunk
A five-member alternative music group created in 1988 around guitarist and singer Franz Schller and organist Joe Evil. GrimSkunk launched its first album in 1993 and appeared with Groovy Aardvark, at the Montréal Spectrum several months later. Following a tour of the American mid-west in early 1995, this fusion group that unites rock with Latin rhythms and punk, was a hit at the Métropolis in Montréal, then undertook a tour in France (Printemps de Bourges), Switzerland and Germany. Their repertoire is mainly in English, but includes songs in French, Greek and Spanish. Late in 1997, GrimSkunk founded its own record label, Indica, which also produces other alternative groups (Guérilla, Guano, Vulgaires Machins).
