Lorne Charles Webster, financier (born 19 September 1928 in Montreal, QC; died 15 December 2004 in Montreal).
Educated at Lower Canada College and McGill University, Webster started his business career with the family fuel-oil company, Canadian Import. He was a founding director of the Montreal Expos. By the early 1970s, he had founded his own firm, Prenor Group, a holding company with major investments in insurance (through Canadian Provident, Northern Life, Paragon and Personal insurance companies), trust services (with the General Trust of Canada and North America Trust), real estate (through Armand DesRosiers Inc) and investment management (with Bolton Tremblay). Webster was also a director of the Bank of Montreal, Domtar, Murphy Oil, Quebecor, Dale-Ross Holdings and several other companies.
