Marie-Michèle Desrosiers. Singer, songwriter, stage-actress, 'animatrice,' b St-Eustache, near Montreal, 6 Mar 1950. She obtained a diploma in piano at the Lionel-Groulx College in Ste-Thérèse, Que, and also studied drama at the National Theatre School. She was soloist and keyboardist of Beau Dommage 1973-7 with which she recorded several albums and made tours in Canada and in Europe. She composed 'Le Coeur endormi,' among other songs, during this period.

Her first solo LP, Marie-Michèle Desrosiers (CBS NPFC-80047), was released in 1980. In 1981 she gave her first solo performance at the Transit de Montréal. The following year, she launched 'Les Graffiti en fleurs,' in Quebec, France, Switzerland, and Belgium. Her second LP, Plus fort (Kébec-Disc KDS-585), was released in 1983. During the summer of 1984, she participated in the reunion of Beau Dommage, a huge show bringing together the former members of the group in Quebec City and at the Montreal Forum. 'Billet ouvert,', 'Parfait,' and 'Plus fort,' were at the top of the chart. A third album, Aimer pour aimer (1985, Poly 2424-252), was a hit and the song of the same name reached first place on the Radio Activité chart in February 1985. Her simplicity, her versatility, her modern songs on popular rhythms, and her ballads brought her a large public. She represented Canada at the Liège Festival in 1985. In 1987 she participated in the show 'De "Lindberg" à "Ils s'aiment"' telecast in Quebec, France, and Belgium for the Sommet des pays francophones. The next year, she represented Quebec in Cameroon. In November 1989 she played the role of Agnes with Serge Laprade, in the musical comedy Le Grand oui, the French adaptation of the US musical comedy I Do, I Do by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones.

Marie-Michèle Desrosiers has concurrently pursued a stage career, in particular at the Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde and at the Nouvelle compagnie théâtrale.
