My name is Albert Leblanc. I am a Korean War veteran with the 22nd Regiment. I served in Japan and Korea. I liked it a lot. There were little things, but you get through them. I was a paratrooper and I worked as a signaller, I installed telephones. I had come to Canada and was working in Montreal. We went to Korea by boat. The weather was fine in Pusan. We ate at Nafir, the English canteen, and the food was quite good. We went to the American side to see the shows. When Marilyn Monroe came we went to see that, we also went to see Frank Sinatra. I was there for six months overall: two months in Japan and four months in Korea. It was fantastic. It’s a beautiful country and the people are friendly. I really enjoyed my experience. I would go back to Japan for sure.
