Or else it was a Falaise Gap. And the Falaise road, Saint-Lambert-sur-Dives and that’s where we in action in France and that there Major [David V] Curry got the Victoria Cross. Well, it’s where we captured the German 7th Army there. I got quite the story here about him. There’s quite a thing about Major Curry and what his outfit did. There’s a Major Curry and a guy by the name of Corporal Pete Wolfe. And he was my corporal of my tank and we were in the Falaise Gap and that there, and there’s the German officer surrendering, his guys with him. From theArgyll and Sutherland Highlanders and it’s a German officer there. And I was standing there talking with the German officer, and he said he’d come from Cleveland, Ohio. And he spoke perfect English. So we asked him what the devil was he doing in the German Army and that. And he said he was come over in 1937 to be an engineer, then the war broke out and he got shipped into the corps there and they were building the new fencing along the wall in France, in that there. And he come along and he surrendered his pistol, and stand there talking and that there. In this picture, Pete Wolfe has got a white shirt on, talking with Major Curry and then a bunch of Germans and German tank and holes, all shot to hell. This was in St. Lamberts.
