I was in radar. We spent most of our time plotting aircraft and they were going overseas as a rule from Newfoundland, which was then overseas itself, it wasn’t part of Canada. That was an overseas posting. Of course, I had no idea that’s what was going to happen, that I was going to suddenly be here [Newfoundland] and not in England, or anywhere else, just that’s what happened. It wasn’t that difficult. It was a bit scary sometimes when you didn’t really know what was going to happen, but we managed. I got married to a Newfoundlander. [laughs] Still together and very, very happy. Just happened to bump into him one day, and that was the beginning. [laughs] At the Hotel Newfoundland, having coffee. [laughs] That’s always been very, very good. We’ve had a very good relationship.
