Patricia Adams (b Straughan). Violinist, b Kerrobert, Sask, 19 Dec 1925; LRSM 1943. A pupil of Jean de Rimanoczy, Gregori Garbovitsky, Jascha Galperin, and Kathleen Parlow, Patricia Straughan Adams was concertmistress of the Victoria Symphony at 17 and later played in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (1946-9), the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (1951-8 and 1985-6), and the National Ballet of Canada orchestra (1951-76). She was also manager-contractor and principal second violin for the Canadian Opera Company orchestra (1977-85). Patricia Adams married baritone and administrator Ernest Adams.
