Réjane L. Colas, née Laberge (b at Montréal 23 Oct 1923), m Emile Colas 1958. After studies at Villa Maria and Collège Marguerite-Bourgeois (BA), she received a law degree at Université de Montréal.

Réjane L. Colas, née Laberge (b at Montréal 23 Oct 1923), m Emile Colas 1958. After studies at Villa Maria and Collège Marguerite-Bourgeois (BA), she received a law degree at Université de Montréal. Member of the bar (1952-69) and of the Canadian Bar Association, she was part of the Geoffrion & Prud'homme legal study (1957-69) and named judge of the Superior Court. She became Queen's Counsel in 1968. Among her many responsibilities, she was treasurer (1978-82) and president (1982-84) of the general committee of judges of the Québec Superior Court. She also served as chair of the family law committee for the Québec section of the Canadian Bar Association (1967-68) and was founding chair of the Fédération des femmes du Québec (1966-67) and an active member of the Fondation Thérèse Casgrain. In 1994 Colas was named to sit on the NAFTA panels to arbitrate trade disputes. She was invested as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1998.
