Robert Charles Vaughan, railway executive (b at Toronto 1 Dec 1883; d at Montréal 5 Jan 1966). Vaughan joined the CPR as messenger in 1898.

Robert Charles Vaughan, railway executive (b at Toronto 1 Dec 1883; d at Montréal 5 Jan 1966). Vaughan joined the CPR as messenger in 1898. He moved on to the GRAND TRUNK RY and to the CANADIAN NORTHERN RY in 1902, rising rapidly to become VP of CANADIAN NATIONAL RYS during the 1920s and 1930s and president 1941-50. Chairman of the Defence Purchasing Board in WWII, Vaughan was created CMG in 1946. He was governor of Montréal General Hospital, president and chairman of Commonwealth International Corp and Commonwealth International Leverage Fund Ltd, and a director of several others.
