David Joseph Gallant

David Gallant is a Canadian historian. He has a PhD in history from the University of Calgary, as well as a BA and MA in history from Carleton University in Ottawa. His primary areas of research are Canadian, Indigenous, and First World War history. In the past several years, David has worked as the Indigenous Peoples Subject Editor at The Canadian Encyclopedia, as a historian at Parks Canada's Indigenous Affairs and Cultural Heritage Directorate (Archaeology and History Branch), and as an instructor at the University of Calgary's Department of History. David's articles have appeared in Manitoba History and The Frontier of Patriotism: Alberta and the First World War, edited by Jeffrey Keshen and Adriana Davies (University of Calgary Press, 2016).
