Carolyn Nakagawa is a fourth-generation Anglo-Japanese Canadian writer. She holds an honours degree in English Literature and Asian Canadian and Asian Migration Studies from the University of British Columbia, and runs educational programs for the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre. Her writing includes poetry, plays, essays, and exhibits which are informed by her research on various aspects of Japanese Canadian history and culture.
