Deborah Kirshner

Deborah Kirshner was born in Montréal. She studied the violin and spent her adult life as a professional violinist working with the Toronto Symphony, the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra and many other premier musical institutions. She has also performed as a chamber musician and soloist. She began writing in 2003 when “her first article, “The Genius of Django,” published in the The Walrus magazine, won a gold National Magazine Award for Arts and Literature. In 2011, her novella, Mahler’s Lament, a work of historical fiction was published by Quattrobooks.

She is currently working on her first novel.
