Edwinna von Baeyer

Edwinna von Baeyer is a landscape historian. She published her first book, Rhetoric and Roses: A History of Canadian Gardening, 1900-1930, in 1984. It was the first to compile information on the significant social movements in Canadian gardening, such as school gardens. Her latest book, Commercial Fruit Growing in Canada, from European Contact to 1930: An Outline, charts the rise of Canada’s commercial fruit growing. She was honoured by the Ontario Heritage Foundation's prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Research and Writing on Heritage Gardens. For more on von Baeyer's work, visit her website
