Maya Bilbao

Born and raised in Toronto, Maya Bilbao received a B.A. in Political Science from McMaster University. Fueled with a passion for history, Maya became lead writer and researcher of the Rogers TV program, Structures, a documentary series that focussed on Toronto’s history and architecture. Since 2015, she has acted as lead researcher of Still Standing, a CBC television program that discusses the survival of small towns across Canada. Maya has been nominated twice for the Barbara Sears Award for Best Editorial Research at the Canadian Screen Awards. Maya is a member of the Documentary Organization of Canada and the Visual Researchers’ Society of Canada.
