Oscar Baker III is a Black and Mi'kmaw reporter from Elsipogtog First Nation. He was the 2015 winner of the David Adams-Richard prize for non-fiction writing for his piece, “The Violent Ones.” Baker was also nominated for a National Magazine Award for best in personal journalism in 2019 for his piece,“A History of Violence.” He was also the inauguralJHR Indigenous editorial fellow at The Walrus magazine.
