Pearl F. Eliadis

Pearl Eliadis is a lawyer, author and lecturer. Her practice focuses on human rights law, national human rights institutions and democratic governance, and she has worked in North America, sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Asia on a wide range of human rights issues. Recent publications include Speaking Out on Human Rights: Debating Canada’s Human Rights System (Montreal, Kingston: McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2014) and “Canada’s Clash of Culturalisms” in Crépeau and Sheppard (eds), Human Rights and Diverse Societies: Challenges and Possibilities (Cambridge: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2014). She was appointed president of the Quebec Bar Association’s Human Rights Advisory Committee in 2013 and teaches Civil Liberties at McGill University’s Faculty of Law where she is a full member of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism.
