Shannon Prince

Shannon Prince is a 6th generation descendant of residents of the Elgin Settlement and Buxton Mission, which was a haven for fugitive enslaved people prior to the American Civil War. She is the curator of the Buxton National Historic Site & Museum. Prince is also a member of several organizations in Canada and the United States that research and promote the North American story of enslavement and freedom, including the Underground Railroad and the American Civil War.
