Steven Smyth

Steven Smyth was born in Ottawa, Ontario, but spent most of his life in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. He received his BA in political science, history and social sciences from Notre Dame University in Nelson, British Columbia, his MA in international affairs from Carleton University, Ottawa, and his PhD in northern interdisciplinary studies from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He retired from the Yukon government in 2007, where he worked for 28 years in the departments of Environment and the Executive Council Office. He has served on numerous boards, societies and committees in Whitehorse.
