Dr. Wesley Van Wychen is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow working within the Laboratory for Cryospheric Research at the University of Ottawa. His research is focused on resolving baseline glacier velocities at regional scales and understanding the variability in glacier ice motion over time. His present research is undertaken in conjunction with the Glaciology and Geoscience Laboratory, University of Lethbridge and supported by the Geological Survey of Canada and University of Alberta. His work primarily uses satellite image data to derive glacier flow in the Canadian Rockies, Yukon and Nunavut. His research interests also include linking glacier dynamics to changing atmospheric and oceanographic conditions.
