Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium

Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium. Home of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. Acoustically excellent and seating 2003 in the orchestra and three balconies, the auditorium was designed by Kerr Cullingworth Riches Associates and, following construction funded by municipal, provincial, and federal governments, opened 1 Apr 1968 with a performance by the Saskatoon SO of Orff's Carmina burana. The Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium Foundation Board was formed to govern its operation and maintenance. By 1990 the operation had become entirely municipally funded. Maureen Forrester, Harry Belafonte, the NACO, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the TS, and other solo artists and ensembles have appeared at the hall.
