Substantive Law, body of law concerned with rights and obligations, as opposed to PROCEDURAL LAW which concerns how to enforce and defend such rights and obligations.

Substantive Law

Substantive Law, body of law concerned with rights and obligations, as opposed to PROCEDURAL LAW which concerns how to enforce and defend such rights and obligations. For example, murder is a criminal offence (substantive law) while the rules to be followed in prosecuting an offender of that law are referred to as procedural law.
