Ellis McLintock

Ellis McLintock. Euphonium soloist, b Denshaw, Lancashire, Eng, 10 Nov 1889, d Toronto 2 Jan 1955. He played in brass bands in the northern England tradition before moving to Toronto in 1912 and working as a milk man. He became principal of the Imperial Concert Band under Walter Murdoch.

He played in brass bands in the northern England tradition before moving to Toronto in 1912 and working as a milk man. He became principal of the Imperial Concert Band under Walter Murdoch. He also was head 1942-55 of the brass department at the TCM (RCMT), where his pupils included Don Johnson, Eldon Lehman, Gordon Rushworth, and W. Bramwell Smith.
