McLintock, Ellis
Ellis McLintock. Euphonium soloist, b Denshaw, Lancashire, Eng, 10 Nov 1889, d Toronto 2 Jan 1955. He played in brass bands in the northern England tradition before moving to Toronto in 1912 and working as a milk man. He became principal of the Imperial Concert Band under Walter Murdoch. He also was head 1942-55 of the brass department at the TCM (RCMT), where his pupils included Don Johnson, Eldon Lehman, Gordon Rushworth, and W. Bramwell Smith.
