Childhood and Family
Felix Dolci is the youngest of two children of Maxime Dolci and Marie-Josée Richard. He started in artistic gymnastics at the age of five. He started competing two years later, in 2009. Initially, Felix’s parents encouraged him to compete in hockey and soccer. But his commitment to gymnastics and dedication to training have made him one of Canada’s elite gymnasts.
Canada Winter Games
One of Felix Dolci’s finest early accomplishments was his excellence at the Canada Winter Games. At the age of 12, he won five medals at the 2015 Games in Prince George. He won gold in the pommel horse and rings and silver in the all-around, floor and team event. At the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, at age 16, Dolci won four gold medals (all-around, floor, horizontal bar and vault) and two silver medals (rings and team event).
Canadian National Gymnastics Championships and Elite Canada events
At age 13, Felix Dolci won the 2016 Elite Canada Novice event in Halifax with an all-around score of 41.8. He followed that up with junior national all-around titles in 2018 and 2019. He also won 10 individual junior medals at these national championships.
In 2021, Dolci won the Next Generation Senior Title. (Events were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic; coaches submitted videos to Gymnastics Canada.) Dolci also won Elite Canada events in 2023 and 2024.
International Success
Felix Dolci became the first Canadian male gymnast to win a medal at the Youth Olympic Games when he won silver in the rings in 2018. He followed that up by making Canadian history again at the 2019 Junior World Gymnastics Championships, where he won Canada’s first ever world junior gold medal in gymnastics. He also won silver in the floor routine.
Dolci went on to win the silver medal in the team and floor events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, four medals at the 2022 Pan American Gymnastics Championships (silver in the vault and bronze in the all-around, team and floor events) and five medals at the 2023 Pan American Games (gold in all-around and floor, silver in team and bronze in parallel bars and rings).
