Michel Kozlovsky. Pianist, teacher, administrator, b Beirut, Lebanon, 19 Jan 1951, naturalized Canadian 1973; B MUS (McGill) 1974, MMA (McGill) 1976, D MUS (Indiana) 1983. He first studied piano with his mother and then 1967-71 at the École Vincent-d'Indy with Yvonne Hubert and 1971-6 at McGill University with Dorothy Morton. He subsequently worked under György Sebök, John Ogdon, and James Tocco at Indiana U in Bloomington. He taught piano and music literature 1980-2 at the Cons de Val-d'Or and 1983-4 at the Camp musical du Lac-St-Jean. He has given recitals in eastern Canada and in the USA and recorded for radio and television as a soloist and chamber player. In addition to the standard repertoire, he plays works by Godowsky, Alkan, and Busoni. His repertoire also includes works by Jacques Hétu, Kelsey Jones, François Morel, and Gilles Tremblay. In 1986, he formed the Sonos Ensemble with Helmut Lipsky, violin and Leslie Snider, cello. The trio has performed in Chicoutimi, at the Festival international de Lanaudière, and at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur in Montreal. Kozlovsky was director 1982-6 of the Cons de Chicoutimi and president 1982-6 of the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Symphony Orchestra. He was director 1986-91 of the Conservatoire de Trois-Rivières.
