Transcript

Oh, I went overseas and I flew twin engine aircraft at a place called Pendleton [in Lancashire, England]. And then I went on to [Vickers] Wellingtons and then I went onto [Avro] Lancasters. Hitler had a hideaway in the Swiss Alps called Berchtesgaden, armoured by Hitler’s security guards. Well, we got a direct hit on it. It was quite a spot and it was in the Swiss Alps. It was quite an interesting raid. We flew over the Swiss Alps and you could see the mountains and so on.
