René Boutet

René Boutet. Tenor, b Quebec City 16 Oct 1963; M MUS (Laval) 1990. He studied 1983-4 at the CMQ, then 1984-90 with Louise André at Laval University. In 1986 he won the finals of the Canadian Music Competitions.

René Boutet. Tenor, b Quebec City 16 Oct 1963; M MUS (Laval) 1990. He studied 1983-4 at the CMQ, then 1984-90 with Louise André at Laval University. In 1986 he won the finals of the Canadian Music Competitions. He began to perform regularly in 1985, was a trainee 1988-9 at the Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal, and undertook a concert tour in France in 1990 with the Vocal ensemble Les Boréades of Moncton, NB. He participated in the recording of the CD Musique en Nouvelle-France with the Haydn-Heritage Ensemble (1989; REM 311110-XCD). In 1982 he became choirmaster at the Ste-Maria-Goretti Church in Charlesbourg, in the outskirts of Quebec City.
