Martin Drouin is a heritage historian. He studies the history of heritage development, focusing on the debates generated by efforts to save built heritage, as well as on the meanings invested in the processes of architectural and urban conservation and redevelopment. He also studies heritage tourism development. He is a professor of urban and tourism studies at the École des sciences de la gestion (School of Management Studies) of the Université du Québec à Montréal.
